Digital Camera In Action

Frame your subject

Beer in glasses with back light.

Your subject may be live or still.

Framing your subject is on the art side of photography. You need to view your subject in order to frame it properly. You can use a LCD screen or the viewfinder. With a digital camera, you will most likely use the LCD screen.

Virtually every digital camera comes equipped with a Liquid Crystal Display screen. This is the standard and some of the compact models don’t even have a viewfinder.

LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display.

Most likely you will have both, viewfinder and LCD screen, and, therefore, a choice. You will be able then to view your subject in the time honoured way, through the viewfinder, or use the LCD screen. This second option comes especially handy when shooting video – which you will not do all often, but a digital camera gives you this facility all the same.
